'One single mom. One chaotic family. One quirky stranger. One irresistible love story from the New York Times bestselling author of Me Before You

American audiences have fallen in love with Jojo Moyes. Ever since she debuted Stateside she has captivated readers and reviewers alike, and hit the New York Times bestseller list with the word-of-mouth sensation Me Before You. Now, with One Plus One, she’s written another contemporary opposites-attract love story.

Suppose your life sucks. A lot. Your husband has done a vanishing act, your teenage stepson is being bullied, and your math whiz daughter has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you can’t afford to pay for. That’s Jess’s life in a nutshell—until an unexpected knight in shining armor offers to rescue them. Only Jess’s knight turns out to be Geeky Ed, the obnoxious tech millionaire whose vacation home she happens to clean. But Ed has big problems of his own, and driving the dysfunctional family to the Math Olympiad feels like his first unselfish act in ages . . . maybe ever.

One Plus One is Jojo Moyes at her astounding best. You’ll laugh, you’ll weep, and when you flip the last page, you’ll want to start all over again.'

Jesse is a single mum ( not by choice), financially struggling to raise two children whilst who is holding down two jobs just to keep them afloat. Each day is a new challenge with constant juggling between fending off the money sharks to the neighbourhood kids who bully her mascara wearing step-son Nicky, all with a smile imprinted on her face.Tanzie who happens to be Jesse's maths whizz daughter has been invited to attend a private school on a 90% scholarship whilst Nicky, is trying to find his place in high school away from the bullies. Sinking steadily into depression , paranoia and verging on hysteria, Jesse in incensed by the selfish lack of consideration by her ex, Marty for her and their children.

Jess meets Ed Nicholls, an eccentric and technologically brilliant man whose life has taken a turn for the worse thanks to one misjugment and resultantly descended into chaos. Ed has time on his hands and wants a distraction, an escape from the consequences plaguing both his private and personal life. These unlikely circumstances lead to a few drunken rescues for Ed and by Jesse, one life-changing road trip and an unlikely and unconventional romance.
This is a heart warming romance with an unexpected ending, based on real life challenges, everyone will identify with at least one of the characters within this book.

Jojo Moyes has a unique way of laying out a story line that enthralls and draws you closer ... almost igniting the same heartache , disgust , longing and a whole plethora of other emotions within you as a person.

The storyline keeps you turning the pages (although I did struggle with the first two chapters) and I found that once I had figured out the muliple layers of characters I could not put the book down. So much so that I actually finished the book in two days.

If you haven't yet had the opportunity to read Jojo Moyes treat yourself and you will quickly see why she is a best selling author.
