Please share a little about yourself and what inspired you to create this brand? 

I believe that effective and functional skin care should be accessible to everyone, I believe in the future of the industry and as we all feel the economic burden over the last few years, I realised that it was necessary to give the industry a product that is affordable to their clients but is still result orientated. 
I have been involved in the beauty industry for over 25 years, and with that comes a level of expertise that stirred me to rethink skin care and incorporate the best of both science and nature to create a skin care range that provides the skin with the vital minerals and nutrients it needs to regenerate and function at its optimum.

How would you describe your brand in a nutshell? 

An effective, affordable skin care range that uses a synergistic approach to science and nature to work to fuse these two different concepts to create effective product formulations.

What would you consider to be unique about your brand?
· Our unique concept based around fruit extracts and active ingredients to treat the skin.
· Affordability, what you pay for is pure results - no expensive packaging, manufacturing locally and a passion for skin health and not profit.
· We try and eliminate as many controversial ingredients as possible. Therefore the products does not contain any parabens, mineral oil, formaldehyde, artificial colourants or sulphates.
· International market trends and technological innovations initiate and drive product development. We are continuously upgrading formulations to ensure that we utilise the most stable and effective combination and concentration of active ingredients in our products. We use the maximum concentration of key active ingredients and use the highest grade of quality ingredients from around the world.

What ‘piece of advice’ would you most like to share with people considering a start -up business? 

Passion is the key to success, it fuels confidence, creates excitement, inspires and most importantly; it is contagious. That being said, in the wise words of Benjamin Franklin “If passion drives you, then let reason hold the reins.”

The challenge as a business is to stay authentic and true to your brand, how do you achieve this? 

Never lose sight of what your vision was for the brand when you started out and always keep in mind where you are heading. Have a clear cut mission statement and stick to it uncompromisingly.

What do you love most about being an entrepreneur? 

There is nothing more satisfying that seeing a product you have poured your heart and soul in and worked hard to develop on salon shelves. It’s gratifying when customers talk about the results they have achieved with SKNLOGIC and how well the product is received by their clients in turn. 

What has your journey so far taught you {about yourself or in general}? Has it changed your life in any way? Endurance. You’ve only got three choices in life: Give up, give in or give it all you’ve got.

How does the future look as far as ‘dreams and visions’ for your brand? 

We started the brand focusing on the main concerns that our skin suffers. 

Focusing on the skin types as well as some of the skin conditions, such as acne and pre-maturely ageing skin and mature skin. We are now moving on to Hyperpigmentation, which is a real problem especially in Africa, and we spent the last year developing a day and night treatment cream specifically for hyper pigmented skin.

Focusing around tried and tested active ingredients that inhibits the formation of pigments and reduces melanin product to even out skin tone and regulate pigment formation. 

These 2 products will be launched early 2015. We are also working on a chemical peel with AHA’s and BHA’s to treat an array of skin concerns, which will also be launched in 2015.
