Nowadays I feel like I need to add an extra chair to the table when I meet my girlfriends for a coffee,  a chair for “Marc, Michael or Louis V” .... yes you know what I mean!  I feel I have to  give these handbags the respect and honour they deserve!! There is no way they can just be thrown aside or on the floor!!
Let's be honest they are worth more than? let’s say….. My life!!

Handbags are fast becoming more than a rubbish dump "where you could find that gross piece of  old gum stuck at the bottom or that tiny piece of paper on which you scribbled that quick last minute shopping list”.
A HANDBAG is seen as a 'status symbol' and it can go a long way to enhance an outfit!
It’s the ultimate accessory!!

The hard, “I could break into a sweat and need to pop a pill part’’ is choosing the right bag!!!
Let’s face it only a small percent of ladies can afford to purchase an esteemed ‘Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and “King” Louis Vuitton'.
Have I considered robbing a bank to buy one………. I would have to confess and say YES!!!
Please don’t get me wrong, I am by no means discrediting any lady who purchases designer handbags…. just be kind to them  (the bags that is)
Like all things fashion... handbags go in cycles, so therefore my humble advice is to invest in a good “everyday bag’’, take some time to “try” on a bag in front of a mirror or take along a good girlfriend who will give an honest… (Not brutal!) opinion.
Most of us look stunning and are well suited to a handbag that stops mid torso as its great at flattering the waist (yesssss ladies there is such a thing)

Here are some of my picks (I have included what I call a ‘BAG FOR DUMMIES” glossary), as nowadays YOU need a degree to understand what each style is!!

So in no particular order….

1)   Indie Hobo (say ho-bo) this crescent shaped shoulder bag is from  Country Road at Woolworths.  It retails for R1799.00. I love the fact that’s its soft and slouchy and most definitely  versatile and can be paired up with jeans or a  fun and flirty dress (a kinda vintage look)

2)   THE CLASSIC TOTE (say to-te) This open top bag with straps or handles is from the “JINGER JACK”  brand (est. 2012). Their range of designs are 100 percent leather and add spice to any outfit!!
The great part is that the leather just looks richer over time!!  This stunner retails at R1990.00   Jinger Jack bags can be found online at www.spree.co.za or at www.jingerjack.co.za. The tote is always a winner!!
3)   JUNIPER SATCHEL  (say sa-t-chel) this large handheld more structured bag is a what I consider a “mix it up bag”
It’s a sassy looking bag which can go from the boardroom to drinks with the gals… ( Sex and the City Style)  this one can be found at TRENERY at Woolworths and is priced at R1599
Now we all know ‘GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN” SO HERE ARE SOME OF MY PICKS OF BAGS THAT ARE FUNKY AND YOU NEED NOT BREAK THE BANK!!'

THESE DUFFLE (say duf-fle) tall shoulder bag, with a wide opening… are bright and would look great paired with jeans and a simple white tee!! The Mock Croc print gives it an added 'oomph' and texture to the bag.
They are all the rage this coming summer!!! Where can u find these you ask??
They are available at Mr Price for R99.00!!!

This little bow and studded clutch (say cl-u-tch) can be purchased in the comfort of your own home online at www.zando.co.za  its part of the ‘’Vikson Range” It would look awesome with an all-black outfit!!   Loving the colour for the coming season! Blush pink!!! Priced at R329.00

This sexy little black clutch is perfect for a night on the town!! Fill it with your favourite lipstick, Iphone, some cash, brush and sticks of gum and you are good to go!! It  is a mock suede and available online at www.zando.co.za  (Utopia Range) a steal at R249.00
Lastly is my current "lusting after handbag” (hmmmm my birthday is soonish) this would be considered an “investment piece”. You now that handbag that stops ladies in their heels (so to speak)!
THIS HANDBAG WOULD DEFINITELY REQUIRE ITS OWN CHAIR ;)
and it needs to be positioned by the body alongside the elbow…. You can all picture it, I know you can!!!
The “SAN TELMO’’ Colour Block bag from local lassies Chloe Townsend and Lizel Strydom of MISSIBABA!! This beauty retails at R5,900.

It’s worth a visit to their SHOWROOMS.
