Ways to treat your aging neck

The neck area is very isolated from both the face and the body and yet it plays such a vital role in the physics of the body. The neck constantly has to defy gravity, why? Well the neck supports the head that weighs more than 10kg’s of the bodies weight, an amazing feat all on its own.

To add to the woes of the neck, it is also the area  with the least amount of oil glands, this in turn results in a knock on effect for hydration levels and the protection of the skin. The oil or sebum of the skin is responsible for maintaining the ‘acid mantle’ which is the skins natural protection, this prevents bacterial invasion but also prevents dehydration through evaporation and cellular respiration. The skin is more fragile in the neck area and the collagen levels vary greatly to that of the facial area, leaving room for highly visible differences in the appearance and textures of the face and neck. A challenge and disappointment for most women.
Often we take care and spend a small fortune on anti-aging products for our face and our eyes but we completely forget about the neck area until
